“The Top 20 Winners Will Get Flewed Out All Expenses Paid”- Yung Miami
I’m sure we all can recall the call to action put out by Yung Miami of The City Girls a little while ago. “The City Girls 20k Twerk Challenge is real” she said in the viral video. The Instagram post wasn’t up a full 2 hours before the submissions came pouring in. Twerkers from all over came out of hiding to submit their best moves for a chance to not only win a trip to Miami, but also have a chance to win $20,000 cash. The challenge was also filmed as part of the visual for “Twerk”, the first single off the City Girls album “Period”. For days we all stalked The City Girls page commenting and debating over which girl was the best. Finally 20 girls plus an honorable mention was picked. It wasn’t long before Yung Miami announced the winner was @DHQ_headtop. The video of the contest left us all ready for the official TWERK video to debut
After several teasers, the “Twerk” video premiered January 16, 2019. The video opens with Yung Miami’s video announcing the challenge along with a welcome from “ Flewed” out airlines, which took me out. Cardi with the braids, and Yung Miami are covered in body paint as they shake and gyrate. The video is perfect representation of the song and very reminiscent of the Old BET Uncut Videos. Personally I’m mad I wasn’t there cause it looks like fun personified. Twerk is what Miami does best. The blue waters beautiful women and representation of girl power makes for quite the visual.
