As gas prices continue to put pressure on working families, Caresha Gives stepped up in a major way to support the Miami Gardens community through its “Spend Dat Gas Giveaway” and Mother’s Day shopping experience.
Residents lined up for hours at the Murphy USA gas station in Miami Gardens for the opportunity to receive free gas during the community giveback event. For many attendees, the support came at the perfect time as rising fuel costs continue to impact everyday life.
Families, working parents, and community members expressed how meaningful the gesture was, sharing how the extra financial relief could help cover groceries, bills, and other necessities.
The initiative was organized through Caresha Gives, led by hip-hop artist Yung Miami, who shared the importance of giving back during difficult economic times.
“Gas is so high right now… I know how important it is for people to need gas and get to work and from work,” Yung Miami shared during the event. “It’s important to give back, especially me being a mother. I know that times get hard, and I just want to be a blessing to others.”
Following the gas giveaway, the event continued with a special surprise for 25 pre-selected mothers who each received a $200 Walmart shopping spree in honor of Mother’s Day.
The event was held in partnership with Nana’s House Behavioral Health and the City of Miami Gardens, further highlighting the power of community collaboration and outreach.
From free gas to shopping support for mothers, the day was centered around easing burdens, spreading love, and reminding people they are seen and supported during challenging times.
